THE CIRCLE by Dave Eggers has been selected for Common Reading at Auburn University

By Luis Diaz | April 3 2017 | College & University Reads

Auburn University has chosen The Circle by Dave Eggers as their 2017 Common Book. Auburn is the 26th college or university to select The Circle for their common reads program.

This novel, which is soon to be a major motion picture, follows idealistic Mae Holland after she is hired to work for the world’s most powerful Internet company. The Circle runs out of a sprawling California campus, links users’ emails, social media, and banking with their universal operating system, resulting in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency. What begins as the captivating story of one woman’s ambition soon becomes a novel of suspense, raising questions about memory, history, privacy, democracy, and the limits of human knowledge.

Auburn University Office of the Provost will also host Dave Eggers for a keynote and book signing event Sept 12, 2017 in partnership with the Auburn Public Library.
