A stunning illustrated journey through one young woman’s year of feelings—from the saturated highs of early summer to the gray isolation of late winter.

Feelings is a visual and emotional treat, full of gorgeous artwork and soothing insight.”—Mari Andrew, New York Times bestselling author of Am I There Yet?

Enter Manjit Thapp’s Feelings, where you’ll find moods that change as quickly as the weather; the different shades of anxiety and hope that each new season brings; and the stages of joy and pain that fuel our growth. From the spark of possibility and jolt of creativity in High Summer, to the need for release from anxiety and pressure during Monsoon, to the desolation and numbness of Winter, Feelings implores us to consider the seasons of our own emotional journeys.

Articulating and validating the range of feelings we all experience, this is a book that allows us to feel connected and comforted by the experiences that make us human.
A Note From the Author

The woman you'll meet in these pages is not an exact mirror of myself, but she represents many important parts of me. Above all, I strove to capture the emotional authenticity of my seasonal experiences with anxiety. Perhaps you'll see yourself in her too.

The book's structure is inspired by the six-season calendar used by some countries in South Asia, which includes a monsoon season and, depending on the region, splits either autumn or winter into two.
“You should read Feelings: A Story in Seasons by Manjit Thapp. Traveling through the seasons, Thapp’s art follows her own changing emotions and moods as they mirror the weather. It’s a visually interesting and creative way of expressing how we as humans are really just sophisticated plants who need water, sunshine, and good soil to thrive.”Book Riot

Feelings makes me feel unoriginal in the best way. It reminds me that despite the specific experience of my individual humanity, there’s a shared one too, with the people around me, but also with the Earth. It’s a colorful road map of how we all cycle through the seasons around us and inside us, a constant oscillation between rain and sun and rage and relief. I’d give this book to anyone and would be confident they would find themselves somewhere inside it.”—Olivia Gatwood, author of Life of the Party

“A beautifully illustrated, evocative look inside the emotions that live and take root inside us. Feelings is simply gorgeous—lush with Thapp’s signature color palettes and evocatively profound, it fills the reader with a longing to climb inside each page and stay awhile. This book is a necessary reminder that the entire spectrum of emotion serves purpose, that each feeling is valuable, and, most important, that we are not alone.”—Meera Lee Patel, bestselling author of Start Where You AreMy Friend Fear, and Create Your Own Calm

Feelings filled me with a deep sense of nostalgia, warmth, and comfort. Manjit Thapp’s illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful. Every single panel is a masterpiece in its own right.”—Polly Nor, artist

“A very thoughtful and wildly beautiful book . . . Manjit Thapp’s distinctive use of space and color exquisitely explores what it means to be a self, and the power of our feelings.”—Liana Finck, author of Passing for Human

“[Feelings] is a visual-emotional banquet in which to get both lost and found.”Booklist (starred review)

“[Feelings is] a colorfully heartfelt evocation of thought and emotion.”Kirkus Reviews

“Make some tea, curl up with this beautiful book, and let Manjit’s warmth, sincerity, and intimacy wash over you. You’ll understand yourself a bit better, and you’ll feel like you’ve made an instant friend.”—Mari Andrew, New York Times bestselling author of Am I There Yet?
