Geoffrey Moore, Ph.D.

Geoffrey Moore was Rose Morgan Professor at the University of Kansas before his appointment as the first full-time lecturer in American literature at a British university, Manchester, from 1955 to 1962. From 1962 to 1982 he was Professor of American literature (now Emeritus) at the University of Hull.

A leading figure in the field, he is the editor of The Penguin Book of Modern American Verse (1954) and The Penguin Book of American Verse (1977).
